Castleon Emmy Lou at Nikami (Shannon) was bred by Mr. & Mrs. Webb of Castleon Great Danes, out of a fawn dog (Champion Vanmore Diplomat) and a brindle bitch (Castleon Flamenco Dancer)
At 6 months of age I started to show her, she made a great start. Her first show she won Best AVNSC Puppy and Puppy Working Group (Crewe and District Canine Association Open Show), her second show she won Best Great Dane Puppy (Rhyl Canine Society Open Show), and her third show she won Best Puppy In Show at The Great Dane Club Limited Show under judge Miss C Dyson. Write up from Our Dogs follows: "Castleon Emmy Lou At Nikami. Not the biggest, but has a nice flowing outline. Fawn of 6 mths, dark mask, good covering of body. Nice long neck, good front, moved well BPB showed her heart off for BPIS."
Ruthin Canine Society Open Show she won BPIB (Pictured opposite). She qualified for Crufts by getting 2nd place in Puppy (entered in mistake, should have been Minor Puppy) at the Great Dane Club Championship Show. At Crufts 2005 under judge Mrs. Bonnie Moen (from Norway), Shannon achieved 3rd place in a class of 9 in Junior Bitch. She automatically qualified for Crufts 2006. Her brother (Castleon El Dorado) also got 3rd place in his class (Junior Dog).
At Bebbington Open Show she won Best Of Breed from the Junior class. At the Midland & West of England Great Dane Club Limit Show Shannon won the Yearling Stakes class, then overall Best in Stakes Winner. Write up is as follows: "Very nice bitch, good head with dark mask correct ear carriage, good top line with a good clean reach of neck, nice tight feet, good shoulder placement and angulation, moving well with plenty of drive, well presented and handled"
At Clitheroe & District Open Show she won Open under judge Alan Mease and her write up is as follows: "Castleon Emmy Lou at Nikami, fawn bitch, nice head, eye and mouth. Long neck, good shoulders, firm topline carried well on the move. Well angled rear, strong, steady mover all round"
At the Northern Great Dane Championship Show under judge Mrs J Christie she won Post Graduate Bitch qualifying her for Crufts 2007. Her write up is as follows: "Abbott's Castleon Emmy Lou at Nikami. This was a strong class & it was a close decision between 1 & 2. Fawn with nice head, good length of foreface, dark mask, dark eye. Good reach of neck, well filled in front, nice shoulder placement, good topline, slightly lower in tail set. Moved well."
Crufts 2006 she was entered into Mid Limit under judge Miss J Lanning where she got 4th in her class. Her brother got 2nd in PG (well done Leo!)
Very sadly on the 10th April 2006 Shannon had to be put to sleep ....
Many tears have been shed, will miss you so much my little princess, sweetest dreams and know that you will NEVER be forgotten.
